Warm Transitional 4-Bedroom Home in Hacienda Heights
An empty four-bedroom, two-bath home in Hacienda Heights, furnished for families in a warm transitional style with cream, sage and terracotta.
The brief
The Cozy Palette furnished this single-story, four-bedroom, two-bath home in Hacienda Heights for families. The before photos show unfurnished rooms in the middle of work, with bare floors and empty walls.
The owner wanted a comfortable family layout across the whole house: living, dining, kitchen, bedrooms and the covered patio.
Before & after
The concept
The house has warm laminate floors, honey wood cabinets and a red-brick fireplace, so we leaned into that warmth. Cream and white keep the big rooms bright, and sage velvet, terracotta pillows and a floral accent chair bring in soft colour.
We mixed a few classic shapes, like a tufted camelback sofa and carved spindle beds, with simple modern art so it feels homey without feeling dated.
Room by room
Living room
A cream tufted camelback sofa with terracotta and grey pillows faces a pair of sage velvet chairs on slim wood legs. A round two-tier wood coffee table, an ivory shag rug, a floral wingback chair and a large landscape painting complete the room.
Kitchen
Honey wood cabinets and a cream stone peninsula are styled with amber pump bottles and a wood bowl. Next to the kitchen, a white desk nook holds two framed prints, a small vase of flowers and an open book.
Kitchen and dining
The peninsula opens onto a wall of wood-framed French doors with grey linen drapes, looking out to the covered patio.
Bedroom
Two white carved spindle twin beds with terracotta and tufted pillows and grey throws share a white nightstand. A white chest of drawers, grey drapes and two graphic prints in mustard and navy finish the room.
Dining room
A long wood dining table with woven-back chairs and cream seats is set for the whole group beside a corner red-brick fireplace. A black lacquer console with teacups, a large gold-and-grey abstract canvas and a dark ceiling fan round it out.
Bathroom
The cream tile tub-shower has a band of botanical accent tiles, a white shower curtain and amber pump bottles. A potted palm sits on the vanity.
Patio
The covered concrete patio holds a black cast-aluminium dining set for four, set with plates and glasses. It looks out over the lawn and the block-wall garden.
