Privacy policy

This policy explains how The Cozy Palette (“we”, “us”), a service of Project 888 Inc, collects, uses and shares personal information when you visit thecozypalette.com or contact us about a property. It includes the notices required for California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA).

What we collect

• Details you send us through the inquiry form or by email: your name, email address, phone number (optional), the city and state of the property, property type, number of bedrooms, the service you’re interested in, your timeline and your message.
• Photos you choose to upload of the property. We remove embedded location and camera data (EXIF) from every photo when we receive it.
• Technical data your browser sends to any website, such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, kept in our server logs.
• Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are used, in general terms (pages, device type, and a coarse location). Analytics and advertising cookies stay off until you choose Accept on the cookie banner. Reject keeps them off. Your choice is saved in this browser for 180 days, and Cookie settings in the footer lets you change it. If you reject, Google’s tag may still receive a cookieless signal so visits can be counted without storing analytics cookies on your device.

Please don’t send us door codes, Wi-Fi passwords, payment card numbers or other sensitive information through the form. We don’t ask for them and we don’t need them to reply.

How we use it

• To reply to your inquiry and prepare a proposal for your property.
• To run, secure and improve the website, including preventing spam and abuse.
• To meet legal obligations.

We don’t use your details for unrelated marketing, and we don’t add you to mailing lists.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the business, under contracts that limit their use of it: our email provider (Microsoft 365), our web host, and Google for the analytics described above. If you tell us you are a HostDesk client, we may coordinate with HostDesk about your property. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined in the CCPA/CPRA.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiry details for 24 months after our last contact, and uploaded photos until the end of the project, or 6 months if we don’t work together, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.

Your California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we use it and who we share it with.
• Access a copy of your personal information.
• Correct inaccurate personal information.
• Delete personal information we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions.
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We don’t sell or share it.
• Limit the use of sensitive personal information. We don’t collect sensitive personal information for that purpose.
• Not be discriminated against for using any of these rights.

To use these rights, email [email protected] with the subject “Privacy request”. We will verify your request by matching the email address you used with us, and reply within 45 days. You can use an authorised agent; we may ask for proof that they act for you.

Security

We protect personal information with reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and private storage for uploaded photos that is not reachable from the web.

Children

Our services are for property owners and are not directed to children under 16. We don’t knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top.
