Warm Modern 3-Bedroom Home in Monrovia
A single-story Monrovia home styled for families and groups. Soft gray seating, warm wood and blush art make it feel easy to settle into.
The brief
This is a single-story home in Monrovia with three bedrooms and two baths. The brief says it sleeps eight and names families or groups as the guests it is for, with remote work in mind.
The owner asked The Cozy Palette for a home that felt warm, modern and comfortable. The brief lists the house as unfurnished before design, but the before photos already show some furniture in place, so this story is filed as a refresh until Tammy confirms.
Before & after
The concept
The house has white walls, warm wood-look floors and plenty of daylight from the sliding door, so we kept the base calm and let soft color do the work. Gray velvet seating anchors the open living space. Blush and terracotta art, a teal throw and mustard and striped pillows add warmth without crowding the room.
The living room, dining area and kitchen sit in one long open space. We treated them as one story: the same blush tones run from the triptych over the sofa to the canvases above the dining table, and the screened sunroom out back picks up the navy and blush again.
Room by room
Living room
A gray velvet tufted sofa and a gray sectional with a chaise face a round white coffee table on a brass X base, over a soft multicolor rug. Taupe drapes on a brass rod frame the sliding door to the sunroom, and a wall-mounted TV hangs beside a faux ficus.
Dining area
A long oak table with cognac faux-leather chairs is set with white bowls, blue napkins and wine glasses around a white floral centerpiece. Two blush landscape canvases, a mosaic print and a ring-pattern print hang on the walls, with a potted olive tree in the corner.
Kitchen
The galley has honey-wood cabinets, white counters, a stone-look backsplash and a stainless fridge and dishwasher. Across from it, a white cabinet run holds a coffee maker, microwave and toaster under a wide window.
Primary bedroom
A bed on a rustic wood-and-black-metal frame is made up in white with a gray throw, striped pillows and folded towels. Three line-art prints in orange, navy and blush hang above, with ribbed ceramic lamps on black tray tables and a built-in white wardrobe along one wall.
Screened sunroom
The screened room has a cream-cushioned dark wicker sectional with navy lattice and blush pillows, plus a gray folding bistro table and chairs. A red-brick knee wall and wood-look floor sit under a white ceiling, with trees outside the screens.
