Warm Contemporary 1-Bedroom Apartment in Rosemead
An empty one-bedroom in Rosemead, fully furnished for solo travelers and couples in a warm, neutral and minimal palette.
The brief
The Cozy Palette furnished this one-bedroom, one-bath apartment in Rosemead for up to two guests: solo travelers or couples. The unit was empty when we started.
The owner wanted an efficient one-bedroom with a clean, calm palette. The brief described the feel in three words: warm, neutral, minimal.
Before & after
The concept
With white walls, light plank floors and a white kitchen and bath already in place, we kept the base quiet and added warmth through texture. A soft grey velvet loveseat, a rust throw, a gold-based coffee table and a woven basket do most of the work in the living room, and a gold-leaf triptych picks up the same warm tones.
The dining corner and bedroom follow the same idea: natural rattan and walnut, a few orange and navy accents, and nothing extra, so the small rooms stay open and easy for two people.
Room by room
Living area
A grey tufted velvet loveseat with a rust throw and cream patterned pillows faces a white-top coffee table on a gold base, over a cream and taupe crosshatch rug. Beige linen curtains, a floor lamp, a black metal media console with a woven basket and a faux fiddle-leaf fig finish the room under a gold-leaf triptych.
Dining nook
A round walnut table with four white metal bistro chairs sits by the window, set with rattan placemats and orange plates. Two rattan sunburst pieces hang on the wall beside a pot of tall grass.
Kitchen
White shaker cabinets with satin nickel knobs, a marble-look slab backsplash and white sparkle quartz counters frame a gas range and stainless fridge. A two-tier wire basket holds lemons and apples on the counter.
Bedroom
The bed has a grey channel-tufted headboard, white bedding, navy and woven striped pillows, a grey throw and folded towels. A soft blue abstract hangs beside the bed, and a black-and-white geometric wall hanging sits beside the white sliding closet.
Bathroom
A white shaker vanity with a sparkle quartz top sits under a white-framed mirror and a three-light fixture, with a carved wood bowl on the counter. The tub-shower has marble-look walls and sliding glass doors, and a terracotta geometric print hangs by the door.
