Sunny Modern 3-Bedroom Apartment in Alhambra
An upstairs apartment in Alhambra, furnished with blue, rust and sand tones, a dining table for eight and three relaxed bedrooms.
The brief
This is an upstairs apartment in Alhambra with an open living and dining area, a galley kitchen, three bedrooms and a small balcony. One bedroom has two beds and the other two have one bed each. The Cozy Palette furnished the whole unit for short stays.
The concept
The apartment gets a lot of daylight and has dark wood-look floors, so we built the palette around that contrast. Blue armchairs, a navy and rust Persian-style rug and sand-coloured art give the living room its colour, and the white walls stay bright. Sofas and chairs are in tough woven fabrics, the tables have wipeable tops, and the dining chairs are easy to clean. We chose the furniture for function, easy cleaning and durability.
The bedrooms stay simple: white bedding, cream throws, one colour story each, and art that ties back to the living room.
Room by room
Living room
A grey sleeper sectional with a chaise faces a pair of blue armchairs across a white oval coffee table on a Persian-style rug in navy and rust. A mustard round pillow, a rust pillow and a white sheepskin soften the sectional. Two large cut-paper style artworks in wood frames hang on the walls, with a fiddle-leaf fig in the corner.
Sitting area
Two blue armchairs with striped pillows sit around a small dark side table on the rug. From here the room opens through to the dining table and the grey kitchen.
Dining area
A dark wood table seats eight in grey shell chairs on black legs, set with woven round placemats, white bowls, blue napkins and stemware. Three framed palm and coastal prints hang on the wall, and a sliding door leads out to the balcony.
Two-bed room
Two navy velvet tufted beds sit side by side, each with navy and colour-block pillows and a cream knit throw. A white mid-century nightstand with a black and white lamp sits between them, under bright abstract and chevron prints. Blue tufted benches sit at the foot of each bed.
Cream bedroom
A cream button-tufted headboard is dressed with blue patterned and striped velvet pillows and a cream throw. Grey and oak mid-century nightstands hold brushed metal lamps, with a pair of red, green and blue abstract prints above.
Channel bedroom
A light grey channel-tufted bed carries grey and blue chevron pillows and a cream knit throw. A mosaic drum side table and a black and white lamp sit beside it, with terracotta stair and arch prints above and a woven pouf in the corner.
Bathroom
A walk-in shower is lined in white marble-look tile, with a black and white mosaic floor and a white curtain. A framed print hangs beside it.
Balcony
A narrow balcony holds a grey mesh loveseat and chair with a teal pillow, a mint side table with a small plant and a potted fig, looking out to the treetops.
