An unfurnished unit in Azusa became a space-themed stay for couples and small groups. Each bedroom has its own planet, and the living room keeps it warm and grounded.

The brief

This is a single-story unit in a multi-unit property in Azusa, with two bedrooms and two baths. The brief says it sleeps four and names couples or small groups looking for a themed, experiential stay as the guests it is for.

The unit was unfurnished when the owner came to The Cozy Palette. The brief asked for a look that felt modern, space-themed and immersive, with a Neptune primary bedroom and a Moon second bedroom.

The concept

This is one of Tammy's signature homes: a custom design where every room was planned from scratch. We wanted the theme to feel like a story you walk into, not a costume. The main room stays warm and grown-up, with a burnt-orange sofa, a walnut slat wall and light oak floors, and the space theme starts with a framed moon poster by the coffee nook.

The bedrooms are where the theme goes all in. Neptune gets a charcoal wall, hexagon wall art, a teal glass chandelier and blue glow under the nightstands. Moon gets a full lunar crater mural and two sets of bunks, so a small group can share one room and still feel like they are on an adventure.

Living and diningA burnt-orange modular sofa with striped and orange pillows faces a round white coffee table on a brass X base, with a walnut media console under the TV and a floor-to-ceiling walnut slat wall beside it. KitchenDark gray shaker cabinets with brushed-gold pulls sit under white counters with dark veining and a white herringbone tile wall. A gas range, stainless dishwasher and pull-down faucet line up behind the glass dining table, set with gray stoneware.
Primary bedroom (Neptune)A queen bed with a black speckled upholstered frame sits against a charcoal accent wall, under white hexagon wall art, between white nightstands with a blue glow underneath. A teal glass globe chandelier, black wire lamps, a framed Neptune poster, a swirled navy and gray rug and a white boucle chair complete the room, with a glossy white sliding wardrobe.

Bunk room (Moon)Two honey-wood twin-over-twin bunk beds face each other in front of a full-wall lunar crater mural. Two framed crescent-moon prints hang above, with a navy fluted nightstand, a white multi-arm lamp, a slate Roman shade and a teal velvet tufted ottoman.
BathroomA backlit mirror hangs over a white-and-gray stone vanity top with an undermount sink and a brushed-gold faucet. A matching gold towel ring and a brown wood vanity keep it warm.
