Soft Modern Home in La Puente
A studio home in La Puente with one open room for sleeping, sitting and dining, a white gloss kitchen and a modern bath, furnished in cream, sage, walnut and gold.
The brief
This is a studio home in La Puente with one open room that holds the bed, a sitting area and a dining nook, plus a galley kitchen and a bathroom with a walk-in shower. The Cozy Palette furnished the whole home for short stays.
The concept
With everything in one room, the layout had to do a lot of quiet work. We set the bed against one wall, gathered two armchairs and an oval coffee table on a rug to make a sitting area, and tucked a small walnut table under pendant lights by the kitchen. Cream walls and light floors keep it airy, while sage, blush and gold add a soft finish. The wood-frame chairs, marble-look tables and gloss cabinets were chosen for function, easy cleaning and durability.
Room by room
Sitting area
Two cushioned armchairs on light wood frames face an oval white marble-look coffee table on gold legs. A round wood side table, a bamboo shoe bench and a walnut coat tree sit by the door, with a cream ceramic lamp at the bedside.
Sleeping area
A cream velvet tufted bed with nailhead wings is made up in white with sage striped and blush pillows and a mauve throw. Three silver floral prints hang above, with a floating shelf and snake plant by the door.
Great room
From the corner, the whole studio comes together: the bed, the sitting area on a patterned rug, a crystal sputnik light, glass cage pendants and windows with white blinds.
Kitchen
White high-gloss cabinets with black pulls run under a warm quartz counter and grey subway tile. A gas cooktop sits under a stainless chimney hood, with oak floating shelves, a black pull-down faucet and a stainless fridge.
Dining nook
A round walnut table on X legs is set for two with white plates and wine glasses, between two curved walnut chairs with grey seats. A trio of black cage pendants hangs above, with a dark wood sideboard holding the coffee station.
Bathroom
A floating wood-look vanity with a white basin and black faucet sits under a round backlit mirror, with a small plant on a floating oak shelf.
Shower
A frameless sliding glass shower has a rain head, a handheld wand, large grey-beige tile with a long niche and a pebble floor.
