Neutral Modern 3-Bedroom Home in La Puente
A single-story home in La Puente with three bedrooms and one big open room for living, dining and cooking, furnished in calm neutrals with touches of gold and color.
The brief
This is a single-story home in La Puente with three bedrooms and a large open room that holds the living area, the dining table and the kitchen. A sliding door leads out to a covered patio. Each bedroom has one large bed. The Cozy Palette furnished the whole home for short stays.
The concept
The home had a fresh, clean shell: warm beige walls, light plank floors, grey shaker cabinets and white quartz. We kept the palette quiet to match, with grey upholstery, white and walnut furniture and a little gold in the art. Because the living, dining and kitchen areas share one room, we kept the pieces low and simple so the space stays open and easy to move through. The furniture was chosen for function, easy cleaning and durability: metal dining chairs, a tufted sectional and simple tray side tables. In the bedrooms, small changes in pillows and art give each room its own feel.
Room by room
Living room
A grey tufted sectional with a chaise faces a round two-tier wood coffee table on a pale rug. Charcoal drapes frame the sliding door to the patio, and a floor lamp and framed print fill the corner. A white farmhouse sideboard with a wine rack holds a white orchid and a small gold accent.
Kitchen and dining
A walnut dining table with white metal chairs sits between the living area and the kitchen. Behind it, a long white quartz peninsula runs in front of grey shaker cabinets, with an elephant painting on the wall above.
Kitchen
Grey shaker cabinets with black pulls wrap around white quartz counters and white subway tile. Four metal stools with wood seats line the peninsula under three cylinder pendants. A stainless French-door fridge, a gas cooktop under a stainless hood and a black faucet complete the kitchen.
Primary bedroom
A beige tufted bed with a scalloped headboard is made up in white with a grey throw, green ikat pillows and blush fringe pillows. White tray side tables hold lamps with wood ring bases, and a long grey and gold abstract canvas hangs above the bed.
Gold art bedroom
A taupe bed with a channel headboard is dressed in white with a blue-grey throw and striped pillows. Black tray side tables hold ring lamps, three gold-leaf prints hang in a row above, and a tall faux ficus stands in the corner.
Geometric print bedroom
A taupe channel headboard bed is made up in white with a grey throw and mustard and cream pillows. White tray side tables hold ring lamps, and three geometric prints in pink, mustard and red hang above.
Bathroom
A walk-in shower with a frameless glass door is lined in large grey veined tile, with a rain shower head, a handheld spray and a niche with wall-mounted dispensers. Black hexagon floor tile and matte black hardware finish the room.
