Soft Modern 4-Bedroom Home in Alhambra

Great room after STR redesign in Alhambra

A bright 4-bedroom home in Alhambra, furnished in soft greys and white with teal, blue and terracotta accents and brass details.

The brief

This is a home in Alhambra with an open living, dining and kitchen area under a tray ceiling, four bedrooms and a powder room. Three of the bedrooms have one larger bed each, and the fourth has a pair of twins. The Cozy Palette furnished the whole home for short stays.

The concept

This is one of Tammy's signature homes, a custom design where every room was planned from scratch. The home came with grey shaker cabinets and grey plank floors, so we kept the base soft and light: white walls, a light grey sectional and white bedding throughout. Colour comes in small, steady doses. Teal velvet dining chairs and teal pillows, blue in the art and the armchair, and terracotta in the starburst prints, with brass lamps and a gold-based coffee table to warm it up. Each bedroom has its own look, so guests can tell the rooms apart. Furniture was chosen for function, easy cleaning and durability, so it holds up to a steady run of guests.

Room by room

Living roomA large light grey sectional with a chaise wraps the corner, with grey, tan chevron and a coral and navy patterned pillow. A round white marble-look coffee table on a gold base holds a gold knot sculpture, on a blue and cream rug. Four framed feather prints hang above, with a brass floor lamp, small built-in shelves and a round gold mirror nearby.
Kitchen and diningA dark wood dining table is set for six, with teal velvet chairs on slim black legs. Behind it are grey shaker cabinets, a stainless range, microwave and fridge, and a stacked washer and dryer. Two black and white prints and a potted monstera sit on the far wall.
KitchenGrey shaker cabinets run in an L with white counters under a tray ceiling. A stainless range, dishwasher and microwave line the walls, with a red striped runner on the floor. A walnut chevron sideboard and a round gold mirror sit just past the dining table.
Blue-art bedroomA white sleigh bed is made up in white bedding with blue and tan pillows, an oatmeal knit throw and folded towels. A large blue brushstroke canvas hangs above. In the corner, a light blue velvet armchair with gold legs holds a sheepskin, and a round white nightstand holds a lamp and an alarm clock.
Reading-chair bedroomA grey upholstered bed with grey and patterned pillows sits on a grey cowhide rug. A mid-century wood armchair with a dark boucle seat and a sheepskin fills the corner. A white dresser with a gold honeycomb front sits under the TV, with a terracotta starburst print and a botanical print on the walls.
Ensuite bedroomA grey upholstered bed with white bedding, grey and speckled pillows and a cream knit throw sits under the window. Two terracotta starburst prints hang on either side, with wood nightstands and white lamps. The door opens to a bath with marble-look tile.
Twin bedroomTwo grey channel-tufted twin beds are made up in white bedding with teal velvet and tan chevron pillows and cream throws. A white nightstand with a white and gold lamp sits between them, under two framed blue leaf prints, with a knit pouf in the corner.
Powder roomA grey shaker vanity with a white top and brushed nickel faucet sits beside a frameless mirror. A black framed palm leaf print hangs on the side wall.
