One of Tammy's signature homes: a calm two-bedroom apartment in Alhambra with soft grey walls, sage chairs, macrame and warm wood.

The brief

This is a two-bedroom apartment in a small multi-unit building in Alhambra. The photos show a living room open to a dining nook, a galley kitchen, a bedroom with two twin beds, a bedroom with a queen-size or larger bed and a bathroom with a tiled walk-in shower. The Cozy Palette furnished the whole unit.

The concept

This is one of Tammy's signature homes, a custom design where every room was planned from scratch. The walls are a soft grey and the floors a pale plank, and the kitchen has espresso cabinets. We softened all of it with texture: a large cream-and-blue macrame hanging in the dining nook, a smaller one above the bed, a woven pouf and patterned pillows. Sage-green chairs and a blue-grey rug keep the palette quiet, and small framed prints add color.

We picked furniture that is easy to keep fresh. The molded dining chairs and wood tables wipe clean, the grey sofa and blue rug hide everyday wear, and the twin room uses simple white metal beds that are sturdy and light to move.

Room by room
