Organic Modern 1-Bedroom Apartment in Pasadena
A corner apartment in Pasadena with floor-to-ceiling windows, an open living, dining and kitchen space, and a bedroom with a work desk, furnished in cream, walnut and terracotta.
The brief
This is a one-bedroom apartment in Pasadena. The living area, dining table and kitchen share one open room with floor-to-ceiling windows, and the bedroom has one bed and a work desk. The Cozy Palette furnished the whole apartment for short stays.
The concept
The apartment came with walnut cabinets and big black-framed windows, so we built the palette around them: cream upholstery, light oak and rattan, black accents and terracotta art. The furniture was chosen for function, easy cleaning and durability, with a long performance sofa, a marble-top dining table and boucle chairs, and white bedding that is quick to reset between stays. A proper desk in the bedroom gives longer-stay guests a place to work.
Room by room
Living room
A long cream sofa with olive, oatmeal and tan pillows sits in front of the windows. A round black coffee table holds stacked books and a small gold sculpture, on a striped rug in warm and grey tones.
Kitchen
Walnut flat-panel cabinets surround a white quartz island with two cognac leather saddle stools. A four-globe brass pendant hangs above, with stainless appliances and a white tile backsplash behind.
Dining area
A round marble-top table on a brass base is set with three charcoal boucle chairs with curved backs, with a small brass table lamp in the center.
Bedroom
A fluted light-wood headboard holds white bedding and heart-pattern tassel pillows. Rattan-front oak nightstands carry linen-shade lamps, a pair of terracotta abstract prints hangs above, and sheer curtains cover the window.
Work desk
A light-wood desk with textured drawer fronts holds a black desk pad and organizer, with a black and brass task lamp and a pegboard on the wall. A chrome and leather chair is pulled up to it.
Bath
A walnut vanity with a light quartz top sits under a framed mirror, across from a glass tub-shower enclosure, with towels on a wall rack and a small framed print.
