The brief
This is a two-story townhome in Rosemead. Downstairs is a large living and dining room and a white kitchen with an island. A curved wood staircase leads up to three bedrooms, a landing with a desk and a bathroom with a double vanity. One bedroom opens to a small balcony. The Cozy Palette furnished the home for short stays.
The concept
The home has two different floors: grey plank floors downstairs and dark wood upstairs, with a rich wood staircase in between. We kept the furniture in grey, cream and black so it sits well on both, then added navy and gold through the art and lamps. Downstairs, a big sectional and a long table that seats eight make room for a group to spend time together. Upstairs, the bedrooms are quieter, with tufted headboards, white bedding and simple prints. Furniture was chosen for function, easy cleaning and durability, so it holds up to a steady run of guests.

Living room
A grey sectional with a sheepskin on the chaise holds dotted, striped, mustard and red striped pillows. A round walnut coffee table with gold legs holds a blue vase. Two blue and gold canvases hang above, with a dark media console, a wall TV and a floor lamp across the room.
Kitchen
White flat-panel cabinets wrap the kitchen, with a white quartz island and two grey upholstered counter stools under three glass pendants. Pink hydrangeas and a bowl of lemons sit on the island. A curved wood staircase with iron balusters rises beside it.
Primary bedroom
A grey velvet bed with white bedding and striped pillows faces a blue mid-century armchair. Charcoal curtains frame a sliding door to a small balcony, with a fig tree, a botanical print and a wall TV.
Grey tufted bedroom
A grey button-tufted headboard frames white bedding with charcoal and patterned pillows, a grey throw and folded towels. Black nightstands hold white ceramic lamps, with an abstract canvas on the side wall and a knit pouf by the bed.
