Modern Neutral Townhome in Azusa
A bright Azusa townhome set up for short-term guests with soft greys, white shutters and warm wood tones. The living room and primary bedroom show the change from before to after.
The brief
The Cozy Palette furnished this Azusa townhome for short-term rental. The project file holds a floor plan and the finished photography; the bedroom count, guest count and target guest were not recorded, so we keep this story to what the photos show.
Before & after
The concept
The home already had good bones: white plantation shutters, light grey plank floors and a dark espresso kitchen. We kept the palette calm and neutral so those pieces could lead, then added warmth with a rust, cream and grey rug, a gold-based coffee table and soft textured pillows. Every room repeats the same mix of grey, white and black, so the home feels pulled together from the front door to the balcony.
Room by room
Living room
A grey tufted L-shaped sectional wraps the corner under white shutters, with striped, check and textured pillows. A round white-top coffee table on a gold base sits on an abstract rug in rust, cream and grey, facing a wall-mounted TV over a dark slatted media console with a faux fiddle-leaf fig beside it.
Primary bedroom
A charcoal tufted headboard anchors the bed between two shuttered windows, with white bedding, a soft grey throw and striped and textured pillows. Black nightstands hold white stacked ceramic lamps, a blue-and-gold triptych hangs above, and a chunky knit pouf sits in the corner.
Kitchen
Espresso flat-panel cabinets run to the ceiling around a stainless French-door fridge and microwave, with granite counters and under-cabinet lighting. Two amber cone pendants hang over the island, set with a fruit bowl and a cake stand.
Dining area
A wood-top table with a black base seats six on black chairs with grey seats, set with white bowls and stemware. A potted succulent in a black planter sits at the centre under two shuttered windows.
Balcony
The covered balcony has two black sling chairs with grey cushions and a black glass-top side table. It looks out over palm trees with mountains in the distance.
