Modern Farmhouse 3-Bedroom Home in Ontario
A 3-bedroom home in Ontario with warm wood floors, a green tile fireplace, a paneled dining room and a white kitchen with a farmhouse sink.
The brief
This is a single-story home in Ontario with a long living room and fireplace, a separate dining room, a white kitchen and three bedrooms. One bedroom holds two beds. The Cozy Palette furnished the home for short stays.
The concept
The home came with glossy wood floors, a fireplace with green tile and a dining room with green board-and-batten panels, and we built around those. A charcoal sectional and big ottoman anchor the living room, with a blush velvet bench, a black pulley floor lamp and a copper lantern adding a bit of farmhouse character. In the dining room, a marble-look table and patterned chairs sit under a bronze chandelier. The bedrooms are simple and warm, with wood and black metal pieces and terracotta and blue art. Furniture was chosen for function, easy cleaning and durability, so it holds up to a steady run of guests.
Room by room
Living room
A charcoal sectional and a large ottoman fill the long living room, on glossy wood floors. A blush velvet tufted bench with a gold base sits under the window with a mustard tufted pillow. The fireplace has a green tile surround, with a lantern, a fig tree and an accent chair in the corner.
Fireplace corner
The fireplace has green tile around a herringbone marble insert, under a white mantel and the TV. A copper lantern sits on the hearth and a fiddle-leaf fig stands in a gold planter. The charcoal ottoman holds a white tray with white flowers, and the green dining room shows beyond.
Dining room
Green board-and-batten panels run around the room. A white marble-look table is set for six with grey Greek-key slipcovered chairs and an upholstered bench under the window. A bronze drum chandelier with bare bulbs hangs above, and a doorway leads to the white kitchen.
Kitchen
White shaker cabinets with black pulls sit over a white herringbone subway backsplash. A farmhouse sink with a black faucet sits under the window, with a stainless range and microwave, a black pendant and wood-look plank tile on the floor.
Queen bedroom
A wood and black metal bed is made up in white bedding with mustard and patterned pillows, a grey throw and towels. A wood and black side table holds a linen lamp, under a blue abstract canvas.
Primary bedroom
A beige tufted headboard frames white bedding with green striped and grey pillows, a charcoal throw and towels. Two terracotta geometric prints hang over wood and black side tables with linen lamps. A white built-in closet with drawers fills one wall.
