Mid-Century Modern 4-Bedroom Home in Hacienda Heights
Teal velvet, walnut and color-block art in a single-story Hacienda Heights home, with four bedrooms and a covered pool patio.
The brief
This is a single-story home in Hacienda Heights with an open living area, a kitchen with bar seating, a separate dining room, four bedrooms and a backyard with a pool and covered patio. The home has terracotta tile floors and a stone corner fireplace.
The concept
The Cozy Palette worked with the home's warm terracotta floors. A teal velvet sectional and walnut pieces give the living room a mid-century feel, and yellow, blush and blue art carries that color into the dining room and bedrooms. Furniture was chosen for function, easy cleaning and durability: metal bistro chairs at the table, low-profile bed frames and woven baskets that keep linens tidy between stays.
Room by room

A slatted walnut media console sits under the wall TV, beside an olive tree in a white pot and a colorful abstract leaf canvas.
Kitchen
White cabinetry and white tile counters with a floral border, a stainless side-by-side fridge, a wall oven and a cooktop with a hood. A wooden salad bowl and a sage utensil crock sit on the counter.
Dining
A black wood table set for eight with blue napkins and white bowls, pale blue metal bistro chairs and a black ring chandelier. Three abstract prints in yellow and blush hang beside a pass-through window to the kitchen.
Bedroom
Two teal tufted upholstered beds with grey throws and woven pillows, a wood nightstand and a black dresser under a wall TV, with an open clothing rack by the door.
Bedroom
Two black slatted twin beds with white bedding and blue throws, a small walnut nightstand with a ceramic lamp and two color-block prints.
