Gallery Modern 2-Bedroom Apartment in Rosemead
An empty two-bedroom unit in Rosemead became a warm, gallery-styled home for up to four guests. Art, wood tones and soft textiles do the work.
The brief
This Rosemead unit is a two-bedroom, one-bath apartment on a single level. It sleeps four, and the brief names couples and small families as the guests it is for. The owner came to The Cozy Palette with an empty unit and asked for the whole place to be furnished.
The goal was a warm, modern, gallery-styled feel across the living room, the dining area and kitchen, both bedrooms and the bath. The unit has on-site parking.
Before & after
The concept
The shell is quiet on purpose. White walls, white kitchen cabinets and gray wood-look floors run through the unit. That calm base lets the art carry the color. The living room, both bedrooms and the bath each have their own framed pieces, so the unit reads like a small gallery.
Against that, we layered texture. A soft patterned rug, woven and fringed pillows, a cognac leather chair and a teal tufted headboard. Gold on the coffee table warms up the cool grays. The marble-look tile in the bath keeps the same light, clean mood.
Room by room
Living room
A charcoal sofa and loveseat sit around a round white coffee table with a gold base and a soft patterned rug. A long dark media console, tall potted trees and two colorful abstract canvases fill the room, which opens to the dining area.
Kitchen
White shaker cabinets, light counters and a marble-look backsplash keep the kitchen bright and simple. A gas range sits in the peninsula under a glass range hood, with a stainless fridge to the side.
Primary bedroom
A teal tufted bed sits under a soft abstract print, with a white side table and lamp. A cognac leather lounge chair in the corner gives guests a place to sit that is not the bed.
Bedroom
A gray tufted bed, navy and patterned pillows and a pair of art prints with yellow tones keep this room calm. A blue velvet accent chair adds a second seat.
Bathroom
Marble-look tile wraps the tub and shower behind sliding glass doors, with a white vanity and a wood-framed mirror. One framed print and a small plant soften the tile.
