Eclectic Traditional 5-Bedroom Home in Walnut
A five-bedroom hillside home in Walnut where carved gold sofas, velvet chairs and simple modern beds share rooms full of green views.
The brief
This is a single-family home on a hillside in Walnut. The photos show a living room open to the kitchen, a dining room under a vaulted ceiling, five furnished bedrooms, a primary bath with a long double vanity and a pool deck with a view over the hills. The Cozy Palette furnished the whole home. One bedroom has two beds and the others one each.
The concept
The home already had big windows onto the hills, so we let the view lead and mixed in pieces with some personality. Carved gold brocade sofas and a marble-top table give the living room a traditional note, while the bedrooms stay simple with white bedding, navy and blue accents and potted trees. The primary bedroom keeps its yellow walls and adds blue velvet chairs facing the windows.
We chose furniture that stands up to groups. The dining room has white metal chairs that wipe clean, the beds are dressed in washable white, and tile and plank floors run through the main rooms.
