Eclectic Modern 1-Bedroom Home in Rosemead

An empty one-bedroom unit in Rosemead, furnished as a warm and bright short-term rental for couples or a small group.
The brief
The Cozy Palette was asked to furnish this unfurnished single-level unit in Rosemead as a short-term rental. The brief names couples or a small group as the target guests.
The owner wanted a warm, bright and simple palette, with an open living and dining area beside the kitchenette and a comfortable bedroom.
Before & after

The concept
This unit came to us as an empty, freshly finished shell: grey shaker cabinets, a marble-look backsplash and light plank floors. We kept the large pieces soft and neutral and brought the warmth in through the art, the rug and the pillows.
A multicolor rug and a pastel landscape canvas give the living room its color. In the bedroom, blue watercolor prints and mustard and rust pillows keep the same easy feeling.
Room by room
Kitchen and living area
A grey boucle loveseat, an oval light-wood coffee table and a speckled multicolor rug face the kitchen. A round marble-look bistro table with white metal chairs and woven wall discs makes a small dining corner.
Living room
A black arc floor lamp, a monstera plant and a pastel abstract landscape frame the loveseat. Navy tufted cube ottomans sit under the wall-mounted TV for extra seats.
Kitchen
Light grey shaker cabinets with matte black pulls are set up with a utensil crock, knife block, toaster and coffee maker. A pink mug and wooden game tiles on the bistro table add a playful touch.
Bedroom
A charcoal upholstered bed with nailhead trim is layered with mustard-striped and rust-and-cream tufted pillows, a grey-blue knit throw and fresh towels. A blue watercolor triptych, a gold metal side table with a ceramic lamp and a faux fiddle-leaf fig complete it.
Bathroom
A grey shaker vanity with a white counter and a silver-framed mirror sits beside a marble-look walk-in shower with a black-and-white dot mosaic floor. A woven basket, an amber soap bottle and a small potted plant add warmth.
