Coastal Transitional 3-Bedroom Home in West Covina
A 3-bedroom home in West Covina with an open kitchen and dining room, cream chesterfield sofas and bedrooms in grey, blue and warm orange.
The brief
This is a single-story home in West Covina with an open kitchen, dining and living area, three bedrooms and a bathroom with a walk-in shower. One bedroom holds two beds, and one has its own bath. The Cozy Palette furnished the home for short stays.
The concept
The home came with white shaker cabinets, dark counters and pale wood-look floors under grey-blue walls, so we leaned into that cool, beachy feel. Cream tufted sofas and a long farmhouse-style table make the open room feel relaxed and roomy for a group. Beach and palm art, a ship wheel and blue patterned pillows bring in the coastal side. Warm notes of mustard, orange and wood keep it from feeling cold. Furniture was chosen for function, easy cleaning and durability, so it holds up to a steady run of guests.
Room by room
Living room
Two cream tufted chesterfield sofas with nailhead trim face a round wood coffee table on an iron base. Grey, cream, patterned and olive pillows sit on the sofas, on a distressed cream rug. A blue and gold abstract canvas hangs above, with a round wood welcome sign and sunflowers in a green vase by the window.
Kitchen
White shaker cabinets with black pulls and dark counters run along two walls. A stainless chimney hood sits over the range, with floating dark shelves, a large wall clock and a coffee sign. Grey dining chairs on walnut legs sit in the foreground.
Two-bed bedroom
Two brown upholstered beds are made up in white bedding with mustard and terracotta pillows, taupe throws and towels. A pair of colourful abstract canvases hangs above. Grey trellis curtains, a wood coat stand, a fig tree and a navy nightstand with a linen lamp finish the room.
Blue-art bedroom
A brown scalloped headboard on a grey frame sits against a grey accent wall, under two blue and silver abstract canvases. White bedding is dressed with dark grey and gold tufted pillows and a taupe throw. Teal nightstands hold white lamps, with grey trellis curtains at the window and a white glass sliding closet.
Ensuite bedroom
White bedding with navy mudcloth and striped pillows, a taupe throw and towels sits against a slate blue accent wall. Grey trellis curtains, a ship wheel and a potted tree fill the far wall, and a door opens to the bath.
Bathroom
A grey shaker vanity with a white quartz top and brushed nickel faucet sits beside a walk-in shower with a sliding glass door, linear cream tile and a hexagon floor. A black towel rack, a potted monstera and a palm print finish the room.
