Clean Modern 3-Bedroom Home in West Covina
A bright single-story home in West Covina with an open living room, a dining nook and three bedrooms, furnished in soft grey, navy and touches of gold.
The brief
This is a single-story home in West Covina. The front of the house is one open room, with the living area flowing into a dining nook and on to a galley kitchen. There are three bedrooms, each with one bed, and a bath with a double vanity and a tub. The Cozy Palette furnished the whole home for short stays.
The concept
The house has white walls, pale plank floors and plenty of window light, so the plan was to keep it calm and clean and add colour in small doses. Soft grey carries the big pieces, navy shows up in a velvet bench, pillows and art, and gold picks up the light on the coffee table and accents. The furniture was picked for everyday use by guests: a deep fabric sectional with room for a group, metal bistro chairs that wipe clean, and white bedding with a velvet throw on every bed, simple to wash and reset between stays. Each bedroom has its own headboard, so the rooms feel different from one another.
Room by room
Living room
A grey tufted sectional faces a dark slatted media console, with a white marble-top coffee table on a gold base between them. A cream abstract rug sits under the seating, and a tall fiddle-leaf fig stands in the corner by the window. Along the wall, a navy velvet bench holds a patterned pillow beside a wood bowl on a white side table. By the entry, a tall mirror and a black shoe rack keep things tidy.
Dining area
A walnut table on tapered legs is set with white bowls, rust plates and wine glasses, surrounded by white metal bistro chairs. A faux ficus fills the corner by the window, on a pale marble-look tile floor.
Kitchen
Cherry raised-panel cabinets wrap the kitchen, with black counters and a stone mosaic backsplash. A stainless range and hood sit on one side, with a utensil rail above the counter. A coffee maker, a kettle and a toaster line the far counter, and amber soap bottles sit at the window above the sink.
Beige tufted bedroom
A beige tufted bed is dressed in white bedding with grey and striped pillows, a grey velvet throw and folded towels. Black tray side tables hold white lamps. A pink and blue vintage runner lies beside the bed, and a fiddle-leaf fig stands by the door. Two abstract prints in sand and navy hang on grey walls with a white chair rail.
Grey headboard bedroom
A tall grey channel headboard with a chrome frame anchors the room. White bedding is finished with chevron and navy dotted pillows, a navy velvet throw and folded towels. A white tray table holds a wood tripod lamp and a pink and green caladium, and a blue abstract canvas hangs above the bed.
Charcoal tufted bedroom
A charcoal velvet tufted bed holds striped and mustard pillows on white bedding, with a grey velvet throw and folded towels. A white tray table holds a tripod lamp and an alarm clock. Above the bed, a streaked abstract canvas in rust, navy and gold brings the colour.
Bath
A walnut-look double vanity with a white top and brushed nickel faucets sits under two white herringbone-framed mirrors, with potted greenery and an amber pump bottle on the counter. A tub with a glass panel and marble-look tile sits across from it, on a marble-look floor.
