Coastal Traditional 3-Bedroom Home in Covina
A furnished three-bedroom home in Covina, refreshed with navy and cream textiles, warm wood and relaxed coastal styling.
The brief
The Cozy Palette styled this three-bedroom home in Covina for short-term rental guests. The project file holds before photos and the finished photography, but the original brief, design packet, guest count and target guest are not on record, so we are not stating them here.
The before photos show the home was already furnished, so this was a refresh of an existing setup rather than a move-in from empty rooms.
Before & after
The concept
The house already had a good base: light tile floors, white walls, white blinds and blue-grey shaker cabinets. We kept that base calm and brought in navy, cream and warm wood so the rooms feel relaxed and a little coastal, with a few traditional pieces like a carved coffee table and a French-style armchair.
In the living room a navy and cream striped rug, cobalt and navy patterned pillows and two oatmeal accent chairs set the tone. The bedrooms stay simple with white bedding, soft throws and one piece of art each.
Room by room
Living & kitchen
The open room pairs a grey-washed dining table and ladder-back chairs set for four with trellis-print curtains on the slider. Across from it, a peninsula wrapped in white hexagon mosaic tile holds cognac leather bar stools beside the stainless fridge.
Kitchen
Blue-grey shaker cabinets sit under white counters and a marble-look backsplash, with a range hood, stainless range and dishwasher. Lemons in a chevron tray and an orchid on the sill keep it styled, and the peninsula opens straight onto the living room's striped rug.
Dining area
White bowls sit on grey woven placemats with rust napkins, around a wooden bowl of decorative orbs. A pair of black-and-white still-life paintings hangs above the table, with the TV on a farmhouse console nearby.
Bedroom with king bed
A king bed with a two-tone wood headboard is dressed in white, with gingham and camel pillows, a mocha throw and folded towels. A carved French-style armchair sits in the corner and a large birch-forest canvas hangs over the bed.
Bedroom with queen bed
A queen bed with an arched linen headboard carries blush and taupe pillows and a grey throw. An oak nightstand holds a carved wood lamp and a small clock, under a floral oil painting.
Bathroom
The shower has marble-look walls, sliding glass doors, a handheld shower head and a wall soap dispenser. A row of wall hooks sits by the door for towels.
Covered patio
The covered patio has a modern wood front door with a glass slit, grey tile floor and a blue-grey beadboard ceiling. A washer and dryer pair sits at the far end, beside the block-wall courtyard.
