Coastal Modern 5-Bedroom Home in Rowland Heights
A single-story pool home in Rowland Heights with five bedrooms and an open living, dining and kitchen area, furnished in calm greys with teal and ocean-blue accents.
The brief
This is a single-story home in Rowland Heights with five bedrooms, an open living and dining area that flows into the kitchen, and a fenced pool in the backyard. The beds we can see sleep at least six. The Cozy Palette furnished the whole home for short stays.
The concept
The house has light grey walls, honey wood floors and a sliding door that opens straight onto the pool, so we leaned into a calm, coastal feel. We painted one living room wall a deep blue and framed it with panel molding, then kept the furniture grey and let teal, aqua and leafy prints carry the color through every room. A large sectional and a dining table for six give a group room to spread out, and the pieces were chosen for function, easy cleaning and durability. Each bedroom has its own headboard and accent color, so guests can tell their rooms apart at a glance.
Room by room
Kitchen
Dark grey woodgrain cabinets with long steel pulls wrap the kitchen, topped with white quartz. A gas cooktop sits in the peninsula under a glass hood, with three small pendants hanging beside it and a mosaic glass backsplash along the walls. A chrome bar stool tucks under the counter, and the dining table sits just beyond.
Dining room
A wood table is set for six with white plates, wine glasses, folded napkins and an aqua runner. Grey tufted chairs with rolled backs surround it under an open cage chandelier with bare bulbs. A framed pink rose painting and a tall branch arrangement finish the corner.
Primary bedroom
A grey tufted velvet wingback bed is made up in white with a beige knit throw and two embroidered teal and green pillows. Mirrored grey nightstands hold ceramic lamps and small pots of blue hydrangea, and a large monstera leaf print hangs beside the window.
Blush bedroom
A grey tufted bed with nailhead trim is dressed in white with blush pillows and a beige throw. White nightstands hold white lamps and small plants, floral and gold leaf prints hang above, and a gold glass desk with a grey chair sits under the second print.
Twin bedroom
Two grey upholstered beds sit side by side with teal pillows and beige throws. A walnut nightstand with a tripod lamp stands between them, under a framed print of potted succulents, with windows on two walls.
Navy pillow bedroom
A grey channel-tufted bed is made up in white with navy velvet pillows and a beige throw. A black nightstand holds a teal lamp, and a large canvas of white blossoms on a soft green ground hangs on the far wall.
Botanical bedroom
A charcoal channel headboard anchors the room, with white bedding, teal geometric pillows and a beige throw. Three succulent prints hang over the bed, and a large palm-leaf print sits beside the window.
Bathroom
A white shaker vanity with a speckled quartz top sits beside a glass sliding shower with a built-in niche. A band of grey wave-glass tile runs around the room, two framed blue coral prints hang on the wall, and a small tray of succulents sits on the tank.
Pool
A kidney-shaped pool sits behind a mesh safety fence, with lounge chairs on a strip of turf along the far wall. String lights hang across the white block walls, and tall cypress trees rise beyond.
