Bright Modern 2-Bedroom Apartment in Rowland Heights
A compact 2-bedroom unit in Rowland Heights, furnished in white, taupe and light wood with mustard, coral and copper accents and its own patio.
The brief
This is a compact unit in Rowland Heights with an open living, dining and kitchen room, two bedrooms, a bathroom with a walk-in shower and a small private patio through French doors. One bedroom also has a desk. The Cozy Palette furnished it for short stays.
The concept
The unit is small, so the plan was to keep it light and easy to move through. White cabinets, pale floors and white walls set the base. A taupe sofa, light wood table and white molded chairs keep the open room airy, and gold frames on the console, desk and side tables tie it together. Each bedroom gets one warm colour, coral in one and mustard in the other, so the rooms feel cheerful without being busy. Furniture was chosen for function, easy cleaning and durability, so it holds up to a steady run of guests. Outside, a wicker set under the fruit tree gives guests a quiet place to sit.
Room by room
Living room
A taupe three-seat sofa with a matching ottoman sits on a multicolour speckled rug. Seafoam and sage pillows line the back, and a long blue-grey tree canvas hangs above.
Living and kitchen
The sofa and ottoman face into the open room, with the tree canvas on the wall. The white shaker kitchen sits under the window, with a stainless hood and a marble-look backsplash, and the light wood table with orange flowers is in front.
Kitchen
White shaker cabinets line one wall with a marble-look backsplash, a stainless French-door fridge, a microwave and a coffee maker. Tall French doors with grey curtains sit right beside it.
Dining area
A light wood table with four white molded chairs on wood legs holds yellow flowers in a glass vase. French doors with grey curtains open to the patio. A walnut cube shelf stands in the corner, and a long white and gold console holds copper and gold vases under the TV.
Sunburst bedroom
A grey headboard with a sunburst channel pattern sits behind white bedding, with coral tufted pillows and a cream lumbar pillow with coral arches and tassels. A white and gold side table holds a linen lamp, under a gold line drawing of a flower.
Mustard bedroom
A grey channel headboard frames white bedding with mustard and cream lattice pillows, a mustard knit throw with tassels and a grey throw. A white nightstand with gold legs holds a linen lamp, and a gold flower drawing hangs above.
Bathroom
A walk-in shower with large white marble-look slabs sits behind a frameless glass panel. The white shaker vanity has a marble-look top, a black faucet and black pulls, with a round black mirror, a reed diffuser and dried stems.
Patio
A dark wicker loveseat and two chairs with cream cushions sit around a glass-top table on the concrete patio. A fruit tree shades the corner, with an orange wood fence behind and the French doors open to the unit.
