Coastal Modern 4-Bedroom Home in Alhambra
An empty two-story home in Alhambra, furnished for families and groups. Navy, teal-green and warm wood bring coastal colour to every room.
The brief
This four-bedroom, two-bath, two-story home in Alhambra came to The Cozy Palette unfurnished. The brief planned it for large families, group travel and extended stays, with room for eight or more guests.
The owner wanted a bold, family-friendly home made for entertaining, with more than one place for a group to gather.
Before & after
The concept
We grounded the open living and dining space with a navy sectional and a soft grey-blue textured accent wall, then brought in warm wood: a round cherry-wood coffee table, a walnut-topped navy media console and a long dark dining table that mixes black metal chairs with woven wicker ones. Deep teal-green cabinets with brass pulls carry the coastal colour into the kitchen and bathroom. The bedrooms stay light and calm, with white bedding, navy accents and bamboo shades.
Room by room
Living room
A navy tufted sectional with a chaise, teal and tan textured pillows and a round cherry-wood pedestal coffee table sit on a light patterned rug. A black-framed seascape triptych hangs on the grey-blue accent wall, with a brass tripod floor lamp, a faux olive tree and a slatted navy console with a walnut top.
Kitchen
Deep teal-green shaker lowers with brass pulls sit under white shaker uppers, white quartz counters and a glossy blue-grey subway tile backsplash. Stainless appliances, a stacked washer and dryer, bamboo Roman shades and a wall spice rack round it out.
Bedroom
A walnut panel-headboard bed is dressed in white bedding, a grey knit throw and navy and patterned pillows, under a pair of sunset-stripe canvases. A walnut nightstand with a cane-front drawer and black task lamp, a grey tufted ottoman and a woven basket on a peg rail complete the room.
Second bedroom
A navy button-tufted bed with sage-green patterned and tan textured pillows sits between rattan-front nightstands with lantern lamps. An organic abstract print hangs above, with a faux eucalyptus tree in a wicker basket and a bamboo shade over the small high window.
Bathroom
A teal shaker vanity with brass pulls and a white quartz top sits under a black rounded mirror and bar light. The sliding glass shower has warm linear-textured wall tile, a charcoal hex floor and a built-in niche.
