Coastal Casual 1-Bedroom Apartment in Montebello
An empty one-bedroom apartment in Montebello, furnished room by room in an easy coastal casual style. Soft greens, navy and woven textures sit against warm wood floors.
The brief
The Cozy Palette furnished this one-bedroom apartment in Montebello for short-term rental guests. The before photos show empty rooms with cream walls and cherry-toned floors.
Before & after
The concept
We kept this one light and easygoing. The apartment already had warm cherry floors and a dark wood plank ceiling in the dining area, so we balanced them with cream and white, then added soft greens, navy and natural woven pieces to give it a relaxed coastal feel.
Every room got a few textured pieces you want to touch: a shaggy green-and-cream rug, knit poufs, a chunky fringed woven wall hanging and a plush navy throw on the bed. Plants around the home keep it fresh.
Room by room
Dining area
A walnut dining table with grey upholstered chairs sits under the dark wood plank ceiling, set with black plates and wine glasses. A large cream-and-black fringed woven hanging, two woven wall plates and a tall palm soften the space.
Kitchen
The kitchen keeps its cherry cabinets and white stone counters, now stocked with a sage-green kettle, toaster, microwave, knife block and a welcome basket. Two small succulent prints and a little yellow planter add a little colour.
Bedroom
A queen bed with a white upholstered headboard is dressed in white bedding, patterned grey and linen pillows and a navy plush throw. The two open closets are styled with a woven basket, a plant, folded towels and an iron.
Patio
The front courtyard has terracotta pavers under a pale wood pergola with a clear roof. Rattan armchairs with a teal pillow, a wood table and potted flowers in purple and orange pots make it a spot to sit outside.
