Bright Transitional 3-Bedroom Home in Hawthorne
A single-story Hawthorne home with three bedrooms, an open living and dining area and a paver patio, furnished in soft greys with cobalt, coral and brass accents.
The brief
This is a single-story home in Hawthorne with three bedrooms, a living room that opens to a dining area, a grey shaker kitchen and a fenced patio with a deck. One bedroom holds two beds and the other two each hold one, so the beds we can see sleep at least eight. The Cozy Palette furnished the whole home for short stays.
The concept
The house has soft grey walls, warm wood-look floors and plenty of daylight, so we kept the base calm and let a few strong colors do the work. Cobalt velvet chairs and brass legs bring life to the living room, and coral, olive and navy pillows give each bedroom its own character. A dining table for eight lets a whole group sit down together. The sectional, upholstered beds and hard-wearing finishes were chosen for function, easy cleaning and durability.
Room by room
Living room
A charcoal sectional faces two cobalt velvet slipper chairs on brass legs, with a travertine-look coffee table on a brass X base between them. A woven pouf, faux fiddle-leaf plants and a large blue-grey abstract fill out the room, and the wide opening frames the dining table beyond.
Dining room
An oval cherry pedestal table is set for eight with white plates, wine glasses and woven placemats, surrounded by grey upholstered chairs. A glass and brushed-nickel pendant hangs above, and a gold console with framed black-and-white prints sits against the wall.
Kitchen
Dark grey shaker cabinets wrap the kitchen with white counters and stainless appliances. A row of wall hooks holds a woven basket and a mustard apron, and a bamboo rack sits by the wall on the wood-look floor.
Bedroom with olive pillows
A grey nailhead headboard is dressed in white with navy and olive patterned pillows. Walnut nightstands on brass legs hold ceramic lamps, and rolled towels wait at the foot of the bed.
Two-bed room
Two grey upholstered beds share this large room, with coral and green pillows and a brass bench topped with sheepskin. Linen drapes frame the windows, and a glass door opens straight onto the deck.
Bedroom with coral pillows
A grey headboard with coral velvet and slate pillows sits between two rattan-ball lamps on grey metal nightstands. A pair of blue abstract prints hangs above the bed.
Bathroom
A grey shaker vanity with an oak-framed mirror sits beside a marble-look walk-in shower with black-and-white octagon floor tile. Small plants in gold pots soften the counter.
Patio
Red and grey checker pavers hold a black cast-iron bistro set under a mature shade tree. A red-railed ramp leads up to the deck along the house.
